Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
