Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an better serving game.

The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional victory, took control to force a final set.

He rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
